Lawn Griffiths announced that he and Dick Neuheisel were inviting friends to help fill the tables for the 11th annual Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame induction ceremonies on 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday Oct. 28 at the El Zaribah Shrine Hall in Phoenix.
Lawn Griffiths noted that inductees into the 2011 Class of the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame are being encouraged to invite people in the groups and organizations in which they serve to the formal Induction Ceremony, led by Governor Jan Brewer. It will be 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at the El Zaribah Shrine Auditorium. He and Dick Neuheisel are among 17 in this years class, including two other Kiwanians, George Meegan of Tempe, past president of the Kiwanis Club of Mesa Dobson Ranch, and Karl Kohlhoff of Gilbert, the 1988-89 Governor of the Kiwanis Southwest District. Tables of 8 are being organized. Tickets are $35 each before Sept. 30 and $45 after that date. Included is lunch. Brief profiles of inductees will be shared. Arizona has 600,000 veterans, and Hall of Fame recipients are chosen based on community service and leadership after leaving the military. Over the weekend, the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame informed two members of the Kiwanis Club of Tempe that they are among the 17 inductees for 2011 -- Dick Neuheisel and Lawn Griffiths. As many as 20 are chosen annually for the Veterans Hall of Fame.
