STRONG DELEGATION VISITS TEMPE NUEVO CLUB

Eight members of the Kiwanis Club of Tempe turned out Tuesday for an Interclub with Tempe Nuevo, which also meets at Shalimar. The delegation was twice that needed for an Interclub.

Taking part were Interclub Chairman Dean Plainer, Pam Goronkin, Ralph Packer, Jim Harelson, Sharon Kausal, Mark Richwine, Judy Aldrich and Lawn Griffiths.   They heard Angie Taylor Thornton talk about her work with the East Valley Women’s League, which she led for two years.

Eleven from KCOT Visit Friendship Village

Dean Plainer led the Mega-Interclub visit on Nov. 23 to Friendship Village Kiwanis. Coming the day before Thanksgiving, the group of 11 KCOT members heard the village's chaplain, the Rev. Shirley Wells, speak about appreciation.

Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Interclub Wednesday to Friendship Village

We wish everyone in the Kiwanis Club of Tempe an awesome and blessed Thanksgiving holiday. Of course, our regular meeting day in Thanksgiving so we take a week off and return Dec. 1. Ten KCOT members have signed up to take part in the traditional day-before-Thanksgiving meeting (Nov. 23) of the Kiwanis Club of Friendship Village, 2621 E. Southern Ave.

Interclubs Past and Present

Interclub chairman Dean Plainer announced Thursday that four from the Club had gone that morning on an Interclub trip to the Kiwanis Club of Casa Grande. They heard Division 10 Lt. Gov. Lon Lawrenz, the meeting's speaker, give a motivational talk about the importance of Kiwanis' Eliminate Project (to eradicate tetanus for neonatal babies and new mothers).
