Another great Thanksgiving feast served at Boys and Girls Club

The Club thanks all Kiwanians, along with spouses and friends, who again turned out on Nov. 22 for the Tempe Ladmo Branch Boys and Girls Club's annual Thanksgiving Dinner for kids and their families, called "An Evening of Celebrating Thanks."

KCOT volunteers to turn out Tuesday for B&G Club family feast

On Thursday, Linda Spears finished up sign-ups for volunteers and donated food items for the annual dinner furnish at the Tempe Boys and Girls Club to the kids and their families. It will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 22 at the Club building, 715 W. Fifth St.

Kiwanians doing service project to fight childhood obesity

Mark Richwine, on Thursday, gave the final instructions for the Kiwanis Day of Play this Saturday (Sept. 24) at the Ladmo Branch of the Boys and Girls Club. More than a half-dozen Kiwanians plus 19 members of ASU Circle K were signed on to conduct games with children, with set-up 9:30 a.m., activities 10 a.m. to noon, and lunch after that.

Kiwanis Day of Play is Sept. 24 at B&G's Club; volunteers needed

The Kiwanis Club of Tempe will plug into a Kiwanis International project on Sept. 24 called "Nickelodeon's 8th Annual Kiwanis Day of Play," whose purpose is to fight childhood obesity.  Linda Spears explained it Thursday to members.   KCOT will recruit volunteers to gather at 9:30 a.m. Saturday Sept. 24 at the Ladmo Branch of the Tempe Boys and Girls Club, 715 W. Fifth St., for set-up.  A variety of games will be organized for the kids from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and a lunch will be provided KCOT also will purchase some equipment, including sport balls, jump ropes, etc.  It is a pure, traditional Kiwanis service project. Key Club and Circle K Club members will be recruited to help. Look for a sign-up of volunteers next week and please put it on your calendar.
