KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL IS 97

Congratulations to our organization, Kiwanis International. It is 97. On Jan. 21, 1915, a group of men gathered in a hotel in Detroit, Mich., for business networking and collegiality. Some saw what Allan Browne, Joe Prance and others started as a mere “knife and fork club” But out of that meeting came a civic and service club that soon was named Kiwanis. Some 97 yeas later it is a force for good, “serving the children of the world.” The Kiwanis Club of Tempe marks is 60th birthday ocially on February 20, 2012.
